The new iPhones were revealed on the Apple website on September 9, proving to the public that iPhones indeed become bigger and better with age.

Apple released two iPhones, the 6 and 6 Plus, both larger in size in comparison to previous iPhones – iPhone 6 is 4.7 inches and the iPhone 6 Plus is 5.5 inches.

Along with a bigger display comes a better display. The iPhone 6 carries a 1334×750 resolution and iPhone 6 Plus carries a 1920×1080 resolution.

Not only is the screen larger, but the iPhone is thinner with the iPhone 6 at 6.9 mm and the iPhone 6 Plus at 7.1 mm thin, creating a more sleek design in the same silver, gold, and space gray colors used in previous iPhones.

The phone also includes Apple’s unique Touch ID technology that was presented last year in the iPhone 5S. The Touch ID can be used to access the phone and approve purchases, giving security a new definition.

Along with the new look, the phone comes with new features. iOS 8 is being released with the iPhone 6, and will be available for previous devices.

“I’m so excited for iOS 8. I love when Apple comes out with new updates; I like change,” says junior Gabrielle Munoz.

Messaging in iOS 8 has brought convenience now that you can share your location, name your group chats, leave and remove people from group chats, and send audio clips.

Now the camera has just the right tools to capture those picture-perfect moments for which we all love the iPhone. Capture a time-lapse or slow-mo video, beautiful panorama images, and utilize more filters. The new iSight camera comes with 1.5 pixels and f/2.2 aperture. Along with the camera, focus pixels, face detection, exposure control, auto stabilization, optical image stabilization, photos app, and panorama are all included with the camera.

Along with the many other features that were added to iOS 8, interactive notifications are a new convenience in our lives. Now when receiving a notification, you can easily respond whether it is a message, twitter notification, email, or more.

Technologically speaking, the iPhone 6 is said to be “hugely powerful and enormously effective” by Apple. The A8 chip gives the phone more power, as well as being built on a 64-bit desktop-class architecture and M8 motion coprocessor to gather data and the new barometer.

“I can’t wait to get the iPhone 6. I’ve been waiting for so long and this definitely is such an advance in Apple technology,” says parent Matilda Lorenzo.

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has exceeded their standards and built a new foundation of advanced technology to convenience and impress us in our daily life. Available for preorder on September 12 and purchase on September 18, the iPhone 6 will change the public’s view on every day technology from now on.
